Dentistry is a skill based specialisation of modern medical practice. A bachelor of dental surgery is trained academically to understand the fine nitty-gritties of the oral and facial tissues. Along with the academic training, he/she is also trained to develop fine clinical skills in various specialised areas like endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics and others. However, due to various reasons, sometimes a student may feel “lack of clinical exposure” during or after the BDS course. The same may be felt by a post-graduate student or by a clinician who has the required set of clinical skills in a particular field, but yearns to learn more and advance his or her clinical practice.
The CEP programs by DBMCI MDS, in association with Academy of Clinical Excellence are a platform to gain clinical, hands-on knowledge in various fields of dentistry. A team of richly experienced post-graduate doctors help students to learn, understand and practice clinical cases in the fields of Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Dental Implants, Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry. New scientific instrumentation and all basic procedures are taught, discussed and performed in the utmost patient manner in a very student friendly environment. Its an effort to merge the gap between the theoretical knowledge and applied clinical sciences. This is also a platform for enhancement of the profession to promote oral health for patients and communities.
Students can choose from a variety of long and short term programs as per their own schedules. Each program targets the diagnosis, clinical examination, radiographic examination and step-by- step treatment of various dental ailments in a clinical set-up. Students get the opportunity to learn hands-on each single day of the program.
Latest equipment, diagnostic aids, good quality clinical materials, daily patient exposure and hands- on and a left handed dental chair for our lefteys! There is nothing more that a student can ask for!
